U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union is excited to announce their annual holiday Biscochito Sale in collaboration with the ARNIA Foundation to support our 2024 financial wellness campaign. This initiative aims to benefit our wonderful partner organizations, Rio Grande Food Project and A New Day Inc.
Why Biscochitos?
Biscochitos, the official state cookie of New Mexico, are a delightful treat with a rich history. These anise-flavored cookies, traditionally made with lard and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, are a beloved part of our local culture. By purchasing these delicious cookies, you’re not only indulging in a tasty treat but also supporting a great cause.

About the Organizations
Rio Grande Food Project
Rio Grande Food Project (RGFP) is Albuquerque’s largest west side food pantry. Since 1989, it has provided members of the surrounding community free groceries as well as other services and support. It now serves thousands of people every year. In 2019 with the help of US Eagle, RGFP built a community garden to grow fresh fruits and vegetables for community distribution.
Food insecurity and hunger are chronic, present realities for many New Mexican households. As many as 1 in 5 children and 1 in 7 adults may not know where their next meal is coming from.
New Day
New Day was founded in 1976 to offer services and support to Albuquerque youth. New Day works with over 900 young people aged 11-25 who experience marginalization, disconnection, and homelessness every year. Their programs are designed to align with young people’s diverse experiences and needs and they focus on creating spaces that are safe and help young people feel seen and honored.
